Free-standing electric units will only have to be plugged into the nearest grounded outlet.  You will probably want to install them near the shower or bath.

Wall mounted electric units can also be easy to install.  The most complicated task is usually deciding the exact location for attaching the towel radiator to the wall.  If the unit needs to be plugged in then you will probably want to locate it as close to a grounded wall plug as you possible can.

Hardwired electric units you will need to consult an electrician (in some areas you are required by law to have a licensed electrician do the work).

Water heated units will have to be connected to the plumbing of your home.  It is recommended that you hire a professional for this task.
